Bar Manager

Job Responsibilities:

  • Attend frequent meetings with Food and Beverage Manager
  • Communicate with store people to assure the appropriate number of products are on hand for the forecasted demand
  • Creating effective schedules and quickly resolving conflicts to ensure that bar is well staffed during peak hours.
  • Diffusing tense situations between patrons or staff members to prevent possible safety or legal issues, ejecting unruly persons, if needed.
  • Ensure proper compliance with bar hygiene regulations and train new employees to help them meet the hotel expectations
  • Ensuring licenses are updated and in line with current legislation.
  • Hiring and training staff to provide excellent service to patrons.
  • Maintaining a fun, safe atmosphere for patrons
  • Managing the business aspects of the bar, taking inventory and reordering supplies, managing budgets, and setting goals.
  • Meet guests and assists in the review of guests’ questionnaires/comment and guest satisfaction results with employees.
  • Oversee bar operations and ensure a smooth flow, maintain a positive bar culture and create work schedules that align with the bar needs
  • Planning and taking part in promotional events when needed.
  • Resolve all staff conflicts swiftly and properly
  • Schedule staff in an efficient manner to best cover the demands of the customers
  • Setting and enforcing quality and safety controls.
  • Spend busy nights glad-handing customers to ensure their dining experience is the best
  • Work shifts required to meet the needs of the bar. This may include nights, weekends and holidays
  • Working with diverse personalities both on the staff and patrons.
  • Any other lawful duties assigned by the Head of Department/ Food and Beverage Manager

Experience Knowledge and Skills:

  • Minimum 3 years of management experience, preferably in hotel operations.
  • Computer skills; -Excel, Words, Outlook.
  • Innovative and creative thinking, Problem solver, Ability to work long hours, Excellent communication skills.
