The Residence Tunis Announces Partnership with ESPA the First in Tunisia
February 2014 – Surrounded by endless beaches, towering pine trees and blue seas, just a two and half hour flight from London, The Residence Tunis is the perfect location for a spa getaway…and with June 2014 heralding the arrival of a new spa menu, designed exclusively for the hotel by global leaders ESPA, there is no better time to visit.
The Spa & Thalasso at The Residence Tunis is the finest in the region - designed as a destination spa for guests to escape from the stresses of modern life and reconnect with the senses. ESPA’s new menu combines classic treatments with exclusive therapies designed to highlight Tunisia’s rich wellness heritage. These use indigenous Northern Tunisian plants, for their warmth and sun nurtured qualities, and the refreshing and uplifting elements of the Mediterranean sea to create truly authentic remedies. ESPA’s award-winning natural skincare products use only the finest ingredients that work in harmony with the skin. Each ESPA treatment is personalised on the day for each and every client.
Signature Treatments include:
- Essence of Earth and Ocean Experience (120 minutes)
A nurturing and relaxing treatment using traditional methods. Sea salts are used to exfoliate and smooth the skin, before wrapping the body in warm, nourishing marine mud. This is followed by a therapeutic aromatherapy massage to soothe muscular tension and calm the mind. The body is then warmed by gently heated sea shells, which are used to massage the body and complete the treatment.
- Revitalising Oasis Ritual (120 minutes)
This is aimed at inducing total calm to the mind and body as well as giving nourishment and regeneration to tired, lifeless skin. The treatment begins with a full body exfoliation, lathering away skin cells followed by a firm massage using a blend of Sweet Orange Oil and Palma Rosa, worked in with warm volcanic stones.
David Sierra, General Manager of The Residence Tunis, comments “We are delighted to be working with ESPA when designing a new menu for our award-winning spa. ESPA has a long history as a market leader, much as our hotel has been recognised for serving guests at the top of the luxury sector in this region since we opened in 1996. This long-standing focus on expertise, service and heritage ensures a natural partnership between the two brands. We look forward to bringing our guests authentic, indigenous treatments that they will not find elsewhere, from June 2014.”
The hotel’s coastal location provides the foundations for exceptional Thalassotherapy treatments, for which the spa is renowned, and there are a series of rooms dedicated to these treatment, harnessing the exceptional properties of the sea water.
The spa’s design is inspired by the magical atmosphere of ancient Roman thermal baths and spreads across 4,000m. There are 20 treatment rooms, an oriental hammam, sauna and steam room, two relaxation terraces and a dramatic cupola covering the seawater swimming pool. There is also a fitness room with state-of-the-art equipment and yoga, pilates and aqua aerobics classes are organised on a daily basis.
The Residence Tunis is half an hour from the ancient city of Tunis and combines the elegance of Arab-Andalucían architecture with the levels of service expected from a member of The Leading Hotels of the World.
Rooms start from €323 per night, based on two sharing on a B&B basis and with complimentary access to The Spa & Thalasso
