The Residence Zanzibar Opens Dive Centre and Launches New Dive Experience In Conjunction with One Ocean
March 2016 - Zanzibar lies 50 miles off the Tanzanian coast, six degrees south of the equator in the warm waters of the Indian Ocean. There are miles of unspoilt white sand beaches and superb dive sites dotted all around the island.
Now, in a new partnership with One Ocean, guests at luxury hotel The Residence Zanzibar can be whisked straight to the reefs of Menai Bay in minutes on The Residence’s private boat, Miss Residence. Rather than having to travel by car to one of the island’s dive centres, the new One Ocean dive operation inside The Residence Zanzibar makes the whole experience more seamless and even more enjoyable for guests. The fibreglass dive boat leaves from the private jetty at the hotel with departure times depending on the tides. Menai Bay is a sea-turtle breeding area and also encompasses several coral reefs, an abundance of marine life and dense mangrove forests. It is also famous for its humpback and bottlenose dolphins. It extends from the south west corner of Zanzibar Island and encompasses several small islands and sand banks each with its own spectacular coral reef. The star attraction - swimming with dolphins and whales.
One Ocean is the oldest and most reputable dive centre in Zanzibar and is also the first PADI 5 Star dive centre on the island. It offers several options for novices through to accomplished divers as well as a scuba diving experience for kids. One Ocean’s exclusive partnership with The Residence Zanzibar is reserved for certified divers only as boats depart without an instructor. Various package prices are available ranging from a single dive to a ten dive package that can be used over a five-day stay.
