FAMILY FIRST AT THE RESIDENCE MAURITIUS
March 2018 - With school holidays just around the corner, planning the ultimate summer escape has tops everyone’s to-do list. Sat on the east coast of Mauritius, along one of the island’s most beautiful beaches, The Residence Mauritius provides the perfect holiday, complete with immaculate white sand, fringed by the azure Indian Ocean and tropical gardens.
With the help of the hotel’s ‘Family Concierge’, guests visiting The Residence Mauritius will now have a personalised, tailor-made itinerary created at the start of every stay, to keep families entertained and excited during their visit to the paradise island. Working around their likes and dislikes to develop a series of bespoke experiences for each family member, the Family Concierge will be able to assist with everything from arranging late night sitters and setting up yoga classes for kids to UNESCO World Heritage Site visits and mini massages at the spa.
With a collection of suites and interconnecting rooms, the family friendly resort blends modern elegance with classic, colonial style. The resort’s 135 rooms and 28 suites are intimate spaces, decorated with an inspired blend of simplicity and elegance. To help keep everything in order, a personal butler, for whom nothing is too much trouble, will be on hand to help with everything from unpacking the luggage, to running a bath, or taking care of the laundry and ironing.
Once families have made the most of the three restaurants, they can indulge at the spa. Parents can enjoy beauty treatments performed by luxury French beauty brand Carita, an expert in anti-ageing, established in the 1960’s by ‘the magicians of beauty,’ sisters Maria and Rosa, whilst little ones can enjoy body massages, mini-manicures and pedicures, hair braiding and Haute Beauté facials for teens. Outside the hotel, there is no shortage of ways to enjoy the days. Families can head to the Black River Gorges National Park to see the protected tropical hardwood trees, including the Mauritius ebony that once covered much of the island. Or embark on an eco-tour to Ile aux Aigrettes Nature Reserve, where Mauritius’ lost paradise is being lovingly restored. For a sense of the island’s history, groups can visit its two UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including the impressive Le Morne Cultural Landscape, a rugged mountain that juts into the ocean where runaway slaves once sought shelter and formed settlements.
For stays from 1st May to 30th September 2018 (inclusive), families can receive one complimentary room on Bed & Breakfast basis for up to 2 children (Age 3 to 12.99 years inclusive), when 2 adults are paying for 1 room or suite.Compulsory child supplement of AED 272 per child per night.
